Dr. Magerkorth is a native Virginian who began his career in veterinary medicine in 1986. He graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with an A.A.S. Veterinary Technology and an A.S. General Studies (Cum Laude). He also graduated from Old Dominion University with a B.S. in Health Sciences. Dr. Magerkorth earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Prince Edward Island-Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada.
Dr. Magerkorth’s special interests include working on all companion animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs) and rodents. He is also very interested in freshwater fish health (specifically, koi and goldfish). Dr. Magerkorth has taken courses on health certification of fish through the University of Wisconsin Madison – College of Veterinary Medicine as well as attended numerous courses on fish health, medicine, and surgery.
Dr. Magerkorth’s pets include:
