DEBRA MITCHELL, Veterinary Assistant

Debra was born and raised in Manchester, England and moved over to Stafford, Virginia in 2001. And before you ask if she has an accent, sadly no.  

Debra began her journey to become a vet tech in 2015 but had to put it all on pause due to having a new born. She is now blessed with a husband, Jeffrey, and 2 incredible boys, Preston and Jeffrey Jr. As much as she loves the chaos of raising two small chaotic boys plus a husband, she also has 12 dogs - 6 beagles (Molly, Luna, Runt, Pumpkin, Big Head and Bandit), a Plott Hound (Miss Duchess of Hartwood - who had 4 pups that were born March 2024 (Gunner, Buck, Xena and Trigger)) and the token family black Lab, Cosmo.

Aside from her love for animals, Debra is a part-time event bartender for weddings, etc. She loves family time more than anything and she loves to hunt, fish, workout, watch hockey (GO CAPS!) and vacation to local landmarks. Debra is currently in her third semester of the Penn Foster Vet Tech program. As much as she loves working with small and large animals her long term goal is to become a Vet Tech at a Zoo.
