Veterinary Assistant
Community Critter Care, LLC is looking to increase our staff size to accommodate our full-time veterinarian, our new part-time veterinarian and increased caseloads. We are looking for energetic individuals (unlicensed and licensed) with a minimum of two years’ experience who are at least 18-years of age. The successful candidates will be responsible for directing patient care throughout our patients’ visit at our facility as outlined by our veterinarians. This will include collecting history, laboratory samples, diagnostic images, administering care, entering records, and discharging patients from our facility.
Our primary patients consist of canines and felines. We also do ornamental pond and aquarium evaluations for Koi and other fish species. Knowledge with husbandry of fish is a bonus.
Community Critter Care is offering $15.00/hour, health insurance for full-time employees (50% paid by employer), paid sick leave, retirement plan, and mentoring.
Duties to include:
· Receive incoming calls
· Screen and direct calls to appropriate staff member
· Record complete phone messages
· Schedule appointments
· Contact scheduled outpatient appointments with reminder of time and requirements (for example, stool sample for fecal test)
· Contact scheduled surgery appointments with reminder of time and required care (for example, withholding food and water)
· Inform clients of expected waiting time if the doctor(s) is(are) behind schedule
· Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of all areas of the clinic and report any required repairs to the appropriate person
· Restock products, office supplies, client education materials, hospital brochures, etc. and notify appropriate person of low inventory
· Prepare client charts for daily scheduled appointments
- As clients arrive, update the existing file, or collect necessary information to prepare a new file
· After client visit, enter payments and records accurately
· Complete all filing, including paid invoices, radiographs, lab reports and correspondence
· Effectively communicate with clients regarding upcoming physical examinations, vaccinations, heartworm checks, dentistry, senior care, and so on
· Copy and mail, email or fax patient records at client request
· Use the computer software system to search for information accurately and efficiently
· Perform other related duties as directed by the owner(s), hospital director, administrators, or managers

Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: Closed
Exams start at 8:30 a.m. with our last exam at 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. We perform surgeries every Friday morning with exams scheduled in the evening.
